Robert "Bob" J. Soderberg

Robert J. Soderberg, age 72 of Clinton, died suddenly on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital in Janesville. He was born March 28, 1949 to the late Raymond and Marian (Severson) Soderberg in Rock County. Bob graduated from Clinton High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1967. He proudly served our country aboard "Big John" the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy CV-67 during the Viet Nam conflict. Bob married Christine “Tina” Mantei in Shopiere Park on October 8, 1983. Bob retired after spending twenty years at Parts Unlimited a division of the Lemans Corporation. He enjoyed anything that “went fast or leaked oil" from motorcycles, to cars, to boat engines. He was loud, smiled all the time and had a great laugh, if you heard it, you knew who it was. Bob is dearly missed by many family and freinds.

Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tina; daughter Shannon (Karl) Pawinski; grandson Peyton; sister Susan (James) Shepherd; parent's in law Edwin and Barbara Mantei; brother's in law, David (Mary) Mantei, Bryan Mantei and Edwin Mantei; sister's in law, Lynne Todd and Carolyn Mantei; nephew's, Nick (Stacy) Todd, Adam Todd, Chal Dundee, Paul (Laura) Dundee, Bryan Jr. (Jessica) Mantei and Kyle (Jessica) Shepherd; niece's Erin (Brandon) Boyd, Missy (Jeremy) Houtakker and Megan Klarides and great nephew’s and great niece's. Bob is survived by the Christophersen’s, Capes and Matteson’s and last (but not least) by Groovy, Patti, KP and Wendy.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law John Todd, and special friends Buzz and Toby Christophersen.

Bob's Celebration of Life is Friday, June 18, 2021, from 3-8 p.m. at Sweet Allyn Park also known as “Shopiere Park” 7149 South County Road J. Informal, casual dress is requested and food and refreshments will be available. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his memory.
