Sharon Lee Bartholomew Obituary

Sharon Lee Bartholomew, 80, died on December 14, 2023, in Loveland, Colorado.  She was born November 25, 1943, in Chicago. Her parents were Gordon and Eleanor Bartholomew. Sharon Lee grew up in Beloit, Wisconsin, attended Todd, Roosevelt and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School.

From her early years she had great fondness and concern for all animals, especially horses. She had her first horse at age ten and her interest continued as she rode, showed and eventually moved to Wyoming where she raised fine paint horses. Her concern for all animals and wildlife included rescuing dogs, cats and feeding deer and the occasional moose in the heavy snows of winter. It was a demanding life and she worked hard and thrived in it. She moved to Colorado in 2004 where she lived the rest of her life, continuing her care of animals and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Eleanor Bartholomew, her sister Lynn Gilbert (Dr. Norman), and her daughter Barbara Lynn.

Lee is survived by her brother Robert (Barbara), brother-in-law (Dr. Norman Gilbert), nieces Elizabeth Bartholomew, and Holly Gilbert, nephews Colin Gilbert, Andrew Gilbert, James Bartholomew, and David Cleaver- Bartholomew and great nieces and nephews.
