Susan McLoughlin Obituary

Susan Mary McLoughlin age 74 of Beloit, WI died on January 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born October 7, 1950, to Andrew and Margaret (Hayes) Fallon in Vandalia, IL. Susan graduated from Beloit Memorial High school, Class of 1968. She was a member of St Thomas Apostle Catholic Church in Beloit for many years.

Susan worked as an Activity Director at VIP Services and Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan, WI where she created the “Senior Olympics.” She was an artist who created over 200,000 teddy bears for her business, Teddy’s Fur U. She also loved painting and quilting. She loved being outdoors including cross country skiing at Big Hills, camping in Minnesota and adventuring on the West Coast. Susan’s legacy is marked by her dedication to family, helping others, her creation of Art and appreciation of the outdoors.  

She is survived by her daughters, Merrisa (Hans) Evensen, Allison (Rory Kellicut) McLoughlin, and Mary Cooper; granddaughter Charlotte “Charlie” Evensen; Brothers Mike (Deb) Fallon, John (Kelly) Fallon, Andy (Marti) Fallon, Pat (Bonnie) Fallon, David (Sharon) Fallon, and Steve (Colleen) Fallon; sisters Rosie (Don) Slaght, KT (Jim) Williams, Jeanne (Don) Fallon-Carine,  and Margie (Nick) Polizzi and many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, and nephew Anthony Polizzi.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospice, Susan’s brother Mike, and his wife Debbie, Susan’s sister Rose, and her nephew Paul.

A memorial gathering is planned to honor and remember Susan’s life at 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Friday March 14, 2025, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit. In lieu of flowers, a college fund is to be established for Charlie. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
