Sylvan F. Doll Sr. “Bud” age 92 of Beloit WI passed away peacefully in his home after a short illness on Thursday February 27, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on the family farm in Norwalk, WI on April 25, 1932, to William and Agnes (Schreier) Doll. Bud spent his youth in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High School. He joined the Air Force in 1951 as he proudly served his county as a Staff Sargent. Bud was stationed in Germany two times during his service until his honorable discharge in 1955. After the Air Force Bud moved to Beloit, WI where he worked for the Beloit Corporation for 39 years. He met the love of his life Fran Snell in 1958, and they were married in Dubuque, IA in 1961. They celebrated 39 years of marriage together. They welcomed four children Brenda, Sylvan Jr., Jody, and Michael. Bud also had four stepchildren. He loved watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewer games, he also had a love for Polka music. Bud will be missed dearly by his family, friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his children; Brenda (Paul) Barber, Sylvan Doll Jr, Jody (Daniel) Andrade, and Michael (Elizabeth) Doll; his stepchildren, Harlan (Paula) Hanson, and Beverly Hanson; nine grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepchildren; Marlin and Carl Hanson, brother, Victor, sisters; Irene, Lucille, Mert, Dorothy, and Mamie.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Home Instead and Beloit Regional Hospice for their support and special care of Dad.

Bud’s Funeral Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday March 4, 2025, in the BARBOLA-HEMPEL FUNERAL HOME, W 2290 Liberty Street, Poy Sippi, WI 54967. Friends will be received on Tuesday in the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Burial Rites will be accorded. Burial will take place in Poy Sippi Cemetery.
