Zelma Aufderhaar age 101 of Clinton, WI died on Wednesday February 26, 2025. She was born on November 23, 1923, in Hurricane, West Virginia to Ezra Lewis and Arnie J (Montgomery) Lawson. Zelma graduated from Hurricane High School, class of 1941. She enlisted into the U.S. Army during WWII and served her Country until her honorable discharge. Zelma was an active member of Blaine United Methodist in Poplar Grove, IL.  She was also a member of Eastern Star as well as the Dary-Paulsen Post 440 of Clinton. Zelma was a longtime owner of Clinton Packing in Clinton, WI. She loved gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Zelma will be remembered for her “forever smile”.

She is survived by her sons; Dave Bailey of South Beloit, IL, Steve (Toni) Bailey of Clinton, WI, Ronald (Nancy) McInnes DDS., of Chandler, AZ; her daughter, Maggie (Russ) Johnson of Poplar Grove, IL; her grandchildren; William, Catherine, Ronald McInnes, Ryan (Ellen) and Cody (Jamie) Johnson, Stevie (Justin) Williams, and Leanne (Zach) Betancourt; and her great-grandchildren; Lorelei and Ben Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fritz Aufderhaar, her parents, her brothers, Kenneth, Clifford, and Harry Lawson, her sisters; Glennith Lawson Hall, and Lessie Lawson and her daughter-in-law, Maureen Bailey.

Zelma’s Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday March 7, 2025, at BLAINE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 7200 Blaine Road, Poplar Grove with Pastor Tom Hay officiating. Friends will be received on Friday in the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Rites and interment will follow in the Blaine Cemetery.
