Brian Mark

Brian Mark

Owner, Funeral Director

Brian graduated from the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University with a BS in Marketing & Finance. He has been working in the funeral industry since 1999, when he graduated with honors from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL. Brian lived in Appleton, WI for eight years, managing a large multi-location funeral home. In March of 2008, he acquired the Schoenfeld Funeral Homes in Beloit & Clinton, WI. Brian has a dual-state license that allows him to practice Funeral Directing in both Wisconsin & Illinois. He is a licensed agent for Preneed Funeral and Burial Agreements, allowing him to assist families with all aspects of pre-planning. Brian has dedicated his professional life to the planning and orchestration of meaningful, healing and dignified final tributes.

 

Brian is an active member of the Beloit & Clinton communities. He is committed to local civic and fraternal organizations that promote unity, inclusion and fellowship. He has served on the Beloit Memorial Hospital Foundation Board since 2013. Brian is a member of the Beloit Lions, the Elks Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Moose Lodge #191 and Our Lady of Assumption Parish. He belongs to the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation, the Beloit & Clinton Chamber of Commerce, the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Brian and his wife, Diane have been married since 2000 and have three children, Avery, Griffin, and Charlotte. Together they enjoy boating, waterskiing, fishing, and all that the Rock River has to offer.

Kathleen E. Anderson

Kathleen E. Anderson

Office Manager

Kathy was born and raised in Beloit, one of nine children.  She is a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School and Blackhawk Technical College.  She has two step-children, David and Linda.  Kathy worked for 23 years and the Beloit Corporation.  She joined Brian Mark Funeral Home in 2006.  She is the office manager and takes care of all the paperwork, billing, and life appreciation printing involved at the funeral homes.  She enjoys reading, creating all of her own greeting cards, painting, watching the Green Bay Packers play and spending time with family and friends.


Michael D. Meier

Michael D. Meier

Licensed Funeral Director since 1972.

Originally from Milwaukee, Mike graduated from Catholic Memorial High School, the University of Wisconsin, and Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago. He was a manager of a large Milwaukee funeral home from 1972 to 1990. He moved to Beloit in 1991 where he served hundreds of area families. In 2003, Mike purchased Strouf Funeral Home in Racine, WI where he successfully operated the firm and served hundreds more families. Mike retired on January 1, 2016, selling Strouf Funeral Home to a trusted funeral director and longtime friend. He returned to Beloit to live full time and continue his career at the Brian Mark Funeral Home as the lead embalmer. Mike has won numerous awards from his peers for his embalming & restorative art skills and continues to teach embalming technique in area continuing education seminars. He is a lay Associate with the Racine Dominican Order, and enjoys restoring and working on his classic muscle cars. Mike is honored to serve area families once again, in their time of need. Bonnie (Bo) Rayborn

Bonnie (Bo) Rayborn

Licensed Funeral Director

Bonnie was born and raised in Carpentersville, Illinois. In 2011, she graduated from Roosevelt University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies. In late 2020, she enrolled at Milwaukee Area Technical College, to pursue a life-long dream of becoming a Licensed Funeral Director and graduated in 2022 with honors. Prior to her time as a Funeral Director, she worked in management, merchandising, and as a wine advisor, who hosted in-home wine tastings across Wisconsin and Illinois.

She has 3 children: Dorothy, Jay, and Zeke. In her free time, she enjoys fishing with her children, playing bocce, reading science fiction, watching both the Green Bay Packers and the Brewers, and cooking for friends and family.

Licensed Apprentice, Entrepreneur & Professional Guitarist

Mike joined the Brian Mark Funeral Home in 2019. Following in the footsteps of his father as a 2nd generation funeral director, he understands the needs of the community we serve and is committed to providing our families the care and dignity they deserve. As the former owner and operator of Paradise Guitar for the last 35 years, he was always a familiar face in the local and regional music scene. Mike is acutely aware how important music is when planning and directing a meaningful and healing funeral event.

He has been living in the Beloit Community for the majority of his life and is a Turner High School graduate.  Mike and his wife, Kristine enjoy lake life at their vacation home and traveling whenever time allows.

Lisa & Jeremy Wallenkamp

Lisa & Jeremy Wallenkamp

Licensed Apprentice's

Lisa & Jeremy Wallenkamp bring over 20 years of experience working together from their early start through EMS and Fire Service, community support and their own individual careers that includes a variety of Public Health and Safety.

Lisa started in EMS as a second generation EMT in 1997 having followed her parents’ lead. She has developed her skills in healthcare, emergency, pediatrics, geriatric care, and veterinary emergency medicine. For the past nine years, she had worked as a death investigator with local Medical Examiner/Coroner offices in Southern Wisconsin helping families through a variety of difficult situations.

Locally, Jeremy is known for spearheading the "18 Wheels for Bubba" event celebrating the love of semi's with a local youngster with special needs. The event brought over 200 tractor trailers to the area and raised funds for the local school lunch program and donated school supplies for their community. Jeremy's other experience includes Ice Water Rescue Instructor, Arson Investigation Trained, Hazardous Materials, Critical Incident Management Response, Iron Work and a variety of Trucking Experience.

Socially Lisa & Jeremy enjoy camping, fishing and the Wisconsin river. They also enjoy the challenges of raising their youngest daughter, Raina.

Zach was born and raised in Beloit and is a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School and Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis MN, through the Beloit Corporation cooperative program. He’s married to Sara and they have two sons, Mitchell (Lindsey) and Nicholas. Zach worked in the paper industry for 42 years. He joined Brian Mark Funeral Home in 2020. Zach assists client family's in all aspects of funeral service. His kind heart and sense of humor has helped countless grieving family's thru a very difficult time. Zach & Sara enjoy escaping to warm locations in the winter months and traveling around North America in their pull-behind camper. They also cherish spending time with family and friends.


Hillary Gavan

Hillary Gavan offers meaningful life tributes for your loved ones.  She meets with families at a comfortable location of their choosing to learn the memories and fine details that will be woven together to create a moving, interesting and personalized funeral service. Hillary has a sensitive and versatile approach and welcomes diverse families and unique situations. She is able to serve those who desire a secular tribute, one with unique spiritual aspects or a customized mix.  If desired, she can offer colorful comedy and other creative approaches to best suit a family's personality. Hillary is down-to-earth and eager to listen as a family moves through grief. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Iowa with a minor in International Studies. Hillary has won four first-place awards from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and one national award from the prestigious Inland Press Association.  She has the Competent Communicator designation from Toastmasters International and is a regular speaker at community events.
